Kingdom Come: Deliverance II picks up Henry of Skalitz’s story a few months after the first game, dropping him into the Kuttenberg region of 15th-century Bohemia with the same core promise: no fantasy, no chosen-one plot, just a low-born blacksmith’s son trying to survive a war he never asked to be part of. Warhorse built the sequel on a much bigger budget than the original, and it shows in how far the simulation goes — NPCs keep their own schedules whether Henry is around to see them or not, and most quests can be solved multiple ways depending on how he chooses to talk, sneak, bribe, or fight his way through them.
The game splits its time between two very different settings: the open countryside around Trosky, and Kuttenberg itself, a dense medieval city with its own economy, guilds, and church politics. Combat carries over the original’s deliberate, stamina-based swordplay, now with combined skills and simplified gear loadouts to cut down on the first game’s more tedious upkeep. Henry starts weak and stays vulnerable for a while — this is not a power fantasy, and Warhorse hasn’t softened that part of the formula for a wider audience.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II shipped on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in February 2025, with a Switch 2 Royal Edition (base game plus every DLC) announced for 2027.
